The Skill to be able to jump, lift weights, or run. This Skill is often used to augment the character’s natural abilities and can also be used to increase a character’s Defence. This Skill is not an Active Defence Skill however.

Movement

A character’s walking speed is determined by their Speed Trait, and indicates how far a character can move in one Round (Yards / 20 Seconds). This is generally assuming the character is keeping is intent on covering ground, rather than when a person is interacting with the environment.

Walk (Speed) A character can, without spending an Action, move their full Speed over the course of a Round. A character can, as part of an Action, cover an amount of ground walking equal to Speed / Actions that Round.

Jogging (Speed x 2) A character can attempt to jog, moving at twice their normal Speed. The character expends one Action each Round, and all other Actions suffer a base +5 Difficulty. This Difficulty is reduced by half the character’s Athletics Skill. Opponents attempting to attack the character have their Difficulty increased by half the character’s Athletics Skill.

Running (Speed x 4) A character can attempt to run, moving at four times their normal Speed. The character expends one Action each Round, and all other Actions suffer a base +10 Difficulty. This Difficulty is reduced by the character’s Athletics Skill. Opponents attempting to attack the character have their Difficulty increased by the character’s Athletics Skill.

Speed Push A character can attempt to increase their Speed by making a Physical + Athletics + Size roll. The character’s Base Speed is increased by the number of Successes rolled. This benefit remains for a number of Rounds equal to the character’s Growth. Each time the character performs a Speed Push in the same Scene, the Difficulty is increased by one.

Jumping

A character’s base jumping distance is equal to their Speed Trait in feet for horizontal distance, and one quarter of their Speed Trait in feet for vertical distance. If the character is performing a running jump, they must move (5 + Size) yards equal to be able to gain the benefits of a running jump (minimum one yards). This grants the character a horizontal jumping distance of twice their Speed Trait in feet, but does not increase their vertical distance.

Performing a jump takes one Action. If the character performs a normal jump, they suffer a +5 Difficulty to all other Actions that Round, minus half the character’s Athletics Skill. If the character performed a running jump, all other Actions suffer a base +10 Difficulty. This Difficulty is reduced by the character’s Athletics Skill.

Distance Push A character can attempt to increase their Distance by making a Physical + Athletics + Size roll. The character’s Base Speed is increased for the jump by twice the number of Successes rolled.

Lifting

Carry: (Size + Physical) x 50 Pounds
Lift: (Size + Physical) x 75 Pounds
Push: (Size + Physical) x 100 Pounds

Lifting Push A character can attempt to increase their capacity by making a Physical + Athletics + Size roll. The character’s Physical Attribute is increased by the number of Successes rolled for lifting, carrying, and pushing. This benefit remains for a number of Rounds equal to the character’s Growth. Each time the character performs a Speed Push in the same Scene, the Difficulty is increased by one.
