History
Jerec, as the eldest child of King Shaden Darkwing and Queen Dove kal Lairu, is a prince of Drachenkeep and possible heir to the throne. He has a brother, Deveron, and a sister, Reya (who might be considered the true heir, as the passing of Drachen's throne has been more matriachal in the past. As their mother is virtually immortal, however, no one is overly concerned with succession at present. Only relatively recently he has been introduced to his half-sister, Miseo.
Taking after his grandfather, Jerec came to the Shire to study at the Solar Temple in the ways of the paladinly Solinar. While content with that, the creation of an embassy of Drachenkeep within the Shire's bounds has also made him an official ambassador. He has even taken up the mantle of Peace Keeper as well. Thusfar, these three roles are in accord. One can only guess what might happen should his different loyalties be tested, however.
Though a one-sided attempt to arrange a marriage for him failed, Jerec is still openly close with his cousin and would-be fiance, Ebony Woods.
Description
Jerec Argent kal Shaden stands an even six feet tall. The fox's pelt, usually well-groomed, is the misty white color of unpolished platinum. In contrast, his neatly-cropped hair is jet black. Though his build tends toward the light side, he carries himself with pride and a youthful energy that would lead one to believe he is around twenty summers old. Soft sky blue eyes peer out over a vulpine muzzle tipped with a black nose. A pair of wings extend from his back, feathers a dark purple along the leading edge and fading lighter down along them.
A quick glance at the fur says a good deal of effort goes into his garb. He wears a double-breasted coat of dark blue material over matching pants. The coat is decorated with gold epaulets befitting a knight-captain of Drachenkeep, the sun symbol of Kij over the right side of his chest, and a formal half-cape trimmed in gold and silver. As if that weren't enough, he's added the crest of the Peace Keepers to the upper arms of his coat. Polished boots come to his knees and his belt supports an ornate broadsword. His left hand bears a golden signet ring.
Behavior
While there is a lot of pressure for the fox to maintain the appearance of a proper noble and paladin, he's really much more laid back underneath that all. Time among the lutrai have left him with little taste for conflict, in spite of the martial training he received. He is typically open, generous, and shows a fondness for attractive women - traits that sometimes cause their own problems.
