History

Jacob, Son of Douglas is the child of Douglas Templeton, a Joshuite who survived the attempt to reclaim the Heartlands, and the attack on the Joshuites by the Rukshasa.

Jacob was apprenticed to the Joshuite church at the age of twelve, and was sworn into the Rosicrucians as a squire at the age of sixteen. By the age of eighteen, he was given his sword and shield, and was sent out to secure the faith. His loyalty and dedication allowed him to return and swear into the order of the Knights of the Temple shortly afterwards.

He is aware of the corruption within Kith Kanaan and within his own Faith, and the horrors unleashed when Mika ascended made him well aware that the present is a very delicate and critical point in Kith Kanaan's history.

Update
While part of a group who had gone off to the New World, Jacob was captured by the vampire 'goddess' known as Citlalmina. While the survivors of the expedition have returned to Kith Kanaan, his condition is unknown.

Personality

Jacob is usually a serious and stern individual, though he does have a tender side for those who need it. He is the mentor for Hadrian, and is also the leader of the church choir. He loves to sing, and finds music to be a wonderful conduit for prayer.

Description

Jacob is a feline, standing almost five feet tall, and weighing perhaps one hundred and thirty pounds. His fur is coal black, but you can see grey stripe patterns along his back, arms, and legs, in almost a reverse-tiger pattern. His eyes are an exotic, cobalt blue, and his attitude is serious and intense. His hair is grey and curled, kept cropped to just below his neck, and short at the front to be out of his eyes.

Jacob wears scale-mail, which covers his chest, arms, and legs. Over this is his clerical robes, a pure white which fits loosely over his armour, tied around the waist by his belt to keep from billowing. A pin on the tunic shows his connection to one of the churches in Tarantis, while a brooch reveals his membership in the Rosicrucians. Around his neck is the sacred symbol of Yahweh, made of a sturdy metal and fairly ornate. He wears sturdy leather gloves and thick boots, and over his back is a back-pack. That and the pouch on his belt holds all his worldly possessions. Tied to his backpack is a large sword, and covering both is a shield which bears the symbol of the Rosicrucians.
