The Viscl
Creation Myth
Where other tribes have come from the breast of the earth and suns, the Viscl come from the heart and soul of the goddess, Crysalla. Our people came to be fully formed and grown from her will alone.
The first Viscl were created from the cold unforgiving rock of the arctic mountains when Crysalla breathed white hot flame to infused the very stone with life. She molded the First Pair with gentle touches of her hands and the magic she holds within her being as the flames sprang forth from her mouth.
With their first breaths, she blessed them with the memory of another whom she had known; giving them the gift of knowledge and the spark of adventure. She taught them to listen and learn, record and speak gently with others within the Giai'shar mountains. They were but babes in her eyes, but they quickly grew to understand and know that they were given a special task to help keep the Balance she holds so dear and close.
After those first lessons, she bade them to live among the Kiyrie and learn from them about life and the ways of survival so that they may travel far on their own when they are ready. The Kiyrie proved to be a proud and boastful people, but they shared the favor of the one the Viscl call Crysalla equally.
Under the watchful eyes of the First Pair, more Viscl were created by the goddess' hands and her flames of life. All were given the same teachings and blessings and tasked with recording the events of the world when they were ready to begin their travels.
Only one among the Viscl split off from the rest, finding himself pulled to the goddess by some unknown force. He learned from her secrets that he soon passed on to the others and told of places far from the cold mountain forests. With him as the Leader, the other Viscl began to imitate him and seek out other tribes to learn from them and find new spirits to bring back to be blessed by the goddess.
Crysalla created the Viscl with a purpose, though slowly, the purpose is changing and her blessing remains strong with them.

Viscl Martial Arts
The Chosen of the Sun was the first to develop martial arts, and has since granted this form of combat to the Viscl. The style is one of avoidance and redirection, and uses the Viscl's arms, legs, and tails as tools of distraction, binding, and subdual. The style is not used for killing, and most Viscl would be horrified at the concept of using it to end a life or inflict lasting injury. This is considered a Trained Ability, costing 10 DP for a Viscl to learn, 20 DP for another Giai'Shar Tribe member to learn, and 30 DP for anyone else to learn. The Viscl are loath to teach these secrets to anyone, and will often refrain from showing off their ability unless necessary.
- The martial artist gains +(Might) Bonus Dice on any use of the Dodge or Unarmed Skill, and is considered to have +(Might) Skill for purposes of Active Defense when using either of these Skills. This bonus only applies when defending or performing a Grapple or Stun Attack only.
